Conferences
At Al-Baseer Foundation, we regularly participate in and organise both national and international conferences. These gatherings allow us to share knowledge, collaborate with peers, and stay updated with the latest in ophthalmology and eye health research and practice.
National Conferences
Al-Baseer Foundation actively participates in national conferences across Pakistan, where our specialists present research papers, conduct workshops, and join policy discussions on eye health. These conferences serve as an important platform to highlight the challenges of avoidable blindness in the country, showcase outcomes of our community outreach and surgical programs, and engage with other hospitals, NGOs, and universities. Through national conferences, we strengthen collaborations, share best practices in ophthalmology, and promote initiatives such as school eye health screenings and diabetic retinopathy management.
International Conferences
On the global stage, Al-Baseer Foundation has contributed to international conferences and symposia that bring together leading eye health experts from around the world. Our team shares practical experiences from Pakistan’s underserved communities, highlighting innovative outreach models and low-cost surgical interventions. These platforms give us the opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in diagnostic tools, surgical techniques, and global strategies to eliminate preventable blindness. By participating in international conferences, we build valuable partnerships and bring back knowledge and resources that help us improve the quality and reach of our services locally.
Advocacy & Awareness Events
Al-Baseer Foundation believes that eliminating avoidable blindness is not possible without creating awareness and advocating for stronger eye health policies. Our advocacy and awareness events are designed to educate communities, influence decision-makers, and build partnerships that support sustainable change in eye care services.
Community Awareness Campaigns
The foundation organizes regular awareness drives in local communities, mosques, schools, and workplaces. These campaigns highlight the importance of timely eye checkups, preventive care, and treatment of common conditions like cataract, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. By engaging directly with people, we encourage healthier lifestyle choices and reduce the risks of preventable blindness.
World Sight Day & Health Days
Each year, Al-Baseer Foundation actively participates in global observances like World Sight Day and World Health Day. Through rallies, seminars, free eye screening camps, and public lectures, we join the worldwide movement to emphasize the value of vision and the urgent need to make eye health a priority for all.
Policy Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement
Our team works closely with policymakers, government agencies, and healthcare institutions to push for stronger policies in vision care. By presenting data from our outreach programs and research, we advocate for integrating eye health into national health strategies and improving accessibility for underserved populations.
Educational Seminars & Media Outreach
We arrange seminars, workshops, and training sessions for students, teachers, and healthcare workers. Alongside this, our presence in print and digital media helps spread reliable information about eye health to a much larger audience, countering myths and ensuring that people are informed about available treatments.
